We doubt we have seen the best of Pedro
yet. He has shown some nice touches, but we already have some very good
technical players, so it's nothing new.
He added that Blackpool need someone who
will consistently produce quality from the by line - something that Pedro is yet
to do.
Blackpool have been deploying him in his
usual left midfield position, but the jury is still out as to whether he is good
enough to earn a deal next season. Mark has told TheSaddlersFC: He has five games to prove himself to the coaching staff and Steve McMahon.
If he doesn't improve, I'm afraid he won't be getting a new deal.
They do seem impressed with Pedro's
defending (they must be easily impressed), and believe he could do a job for a
Division 2 Club, however, as Mark says - Blackpool have promotion aspirations
next season, and it's hard to tell whether Pedro will fit in to those plans. His
ability to vanish for long periods of the games has already been highlighted on
some Blackpool forums.
Pedro got his first goal against
Brighton at the weekend. It would be nice to see him kick on from there and put
in the kind of performances that made him such a favourite at Walsall.
