Merson Gets The Job?

The fanzine site, Ninety Minutes From Europe, is reporting that a source close to the club has told them the job is Merson's and that an announcement may be made soon.

This would be the most popular outcome for most Walsall fans, given the spirit shown by the team during Merson's brief tenure as caretaker manager.

Many, however, still believe that he would need an experienced assistant, if only because it is difficult to make strategic decsions during a game when you are on the pitch yourself.

Meraon's name would also be a great attraction when negotiating for players to come to the club and there have been noises from some members of the current squad that they would be prepared to stay with him as Manager.

Time will tell if this one is right or not!
