Kris Taylor and Mark Wright have signed for another year, as Paul Merson's squad for the assault on the second division championship begins to take shape.

Kris Taylor, the popular and promising former Manchester United midfielder and defender, has put pen to another 12 month contract this morning. He was joined later on by youth product Mark Wright.

Paul Merson has already said that he wants to give youth a chance next season, so the Cannock born 21 year old, Taylor, looks like getting an extended run in the team, building on the experience his games in the First Division will have given him. He is a central/left sided midfielder and defender.

Mark Wright, son of former Walsall player Evran, has come up throught he ranks at the club. The right sided midfielder/defender had been told by former manager Colin Lee that he was had to work at the end of the season to earn a new contract, but it seems Merson has seen enough. His two goals will have helped!

Paul Merson has also said that he wants to finalise his squad quickly, ready for pre season, so this is a big part of the jigsaw puzzle.
