RYDER CUP FINAL JOY

FORMER WALSALL DEFENDER STUART RYDER FEATURED IN HEDNESFORD TOWN'S 3-2 VICTORY OVER CANVEY ISLAND IN THE FA TROPHY FINAL. 

^{Ryder remains one of the most promising talents we have ever produced. He was an exceptional defender who became a First Team regular and England U21 International while with the Club.}

^{All that promise was dealt a serious blow during a Reserve Team outing, when Carlisle Player Steve Hayward committed an X-Rated challenge which threatened to end his career. Although Ryder managed to make a full recovery, he was just a shadow of his former self.}

^{Ryder joined Mansfield Town in the Summer of 1998, where he spent one season  before drifting on to the Non-League circuit.}
