MERSE LOOKS AT DANISH DEFENDER
THE SADDLERS HAVE TAKEN DANISH DEFENDER KOFI DAKINAH ON TRIAL.
It's no surprise to see us in the market for a new defender. We are minus Matt Carbon and Paul Ritchie from last seasons squad, and desperately need defensive reinforcements.
Jesper Hansen of HavenSupport.dk has told TheSaddlersFC
"Kofi is Strong central defender who can also play at the right back. He has a great technique and is dominant in the air. The fans of Herfølge were impressed by him, but the Club did not extend his Stay."
"He is a product of the FC Copenhagen Youth System, but only played 8 matches for them before moving to Skjold, also of the Danish First Division. Kofi joined Herfølge in 2002 and played a key role in their 02-03 promotion campaign. He was a Danish Youth International"
Kofi has told Jesper - "I am in Walsall until the middle of next week, and then i am coming back to Denmark. I'm not going on trial to any other English Clubs"
It seems like the old Bonser/Stapleton friendship has brought this one about. Stapleton used to the chairman at Kofi's old Club - Herfølge.
Walsall boss Paul Merson will be taking a look at the Player in the next couple of games. Merse also said we are running the rule over the a couple of Dutch trialists.
