Heard This Kind of Thing Before ?

Rumours are, unsuprisingly, beginning to surface that Cardiff play off hero Darren Byfield will rejoin the Saddlers by signing a contract on Monday.
It's difficult to see what's goig on a Walsall football club at the moment. Not more than a couple of weeks ago, Paul Merson was saying that he thought he had enough in the squad for the coming season (although more than a few fans thought he was being optimistic.
Since then, we have taken three Dutchmen and a Dane on trial and expressed an interest in signing Cooke, Luke Moore and Stefan Moore on seasn long loans. It also transpired that we were negotiaing with Darren Byfield with a view to signing him.
Whether someone at the club has won the lottery, or whether Merson was throwing red herrings at the press it's impossible to say, but the usually reliable source (if irritating) Steve-o on UTS now is saying that Darren Byfield will be signing on Monday.
If that wasn't enough, the same person has said that Merson's former Arsenal and England team mate, Ray Parlour, is due to join, with some coaching responsibilites as well and that it would already have happened if not for Parlour's much publicised court case.
Personally, I think the second, at least, is the biggest load of tosh I've heard in many a long year. Come to think of it, since I was so sceptical about us signing former Arsenal and England man, Paul Merson.
Some mistake there, surely???????
