Loan Men Named

Club owner Jeff Bonser seems to have freed up some resources for Walsall Player Manager Paul Merson. He needs to make sure the resources aren't wasted.

We had been told that Walsall Player-Manager Paul Merson is hoping to wrap up a loan signing before the one o'clock Friday deadline, to make sure they are available for the game on Saturday. The player would be expected to go straight into the squad for the crunch game against Colchester United.

Rumour had also suggested that there might be a second loan signing on the way and that now seems to be confirmed. Most fans seemed to have been hoping for a defensive midfielder or some other player to shore up our leaky defence, but it looks as if we may be disappointed.

A Reading fan has revealed that the club has made an approach for former Sheffield Wednesday striker, the dominating Lloyd Owusu and for a winger, former Colchester six footer, Dean Morgan.

So who does that leave to go out on loan? Given that we are unlikely to find anyone willing to take any of the higher paid senior pros on loan and my guess would be that the two players sitting on the bench for the reserves this week are the prime candidates. Leroy Williams and Nathan Jameson.
