Bennett Attracts Interest - Lucky It's Only Crewe!

Julian Bennett's impressive early season form is attracting interest - but, fortunately, it's only from Crewe Alexandra at this stage!

According to fansfc.com, Julian Bennett's impressive start to the season has attracted the attention of one definite club now. Several scouts have been at Saddlers' games this season, with Bennett and Fryatt being the main players watched, but Crewe Alexandra have now seemingly admitted an interest in the young Walsall central defender.

It's difficult to know whether Crewe would have the resources available to finance a serious bid, but Dario Grady does want to further strengthen his defence, following the signing of Liverpool full back Jon (shot in the buttock) Otsemobor last month.

One thing is for sure and that is, if Crewe are showing a serious interest, then other Championship sides will not be far behind and Paul Merson may find it increasingly difficult to hang on to his promising young stars, as he has aleady admitted himself.
