More Departures From Walsall

According to the Birmingham Evening Mail, it wasn't just Darren Bazeley who said goodbye yesterday The club is left with only one specialist right back, as an ex Aston Villa man and a Dane leave.

According to the Evening Mail, Walsall also released former Villa man Jonathan Bewers and Dane Kofi Dakinah yesterday.

Although neither man being released is that much of surprise in terms of games played, it does seem a little strange in that Dakinah was signed by Merson in the Summer, after having a good look at him. He certainly was far from convincing in his one short appearance so far, before it was cut short by injury.

The case of Bewers is even stranger, in that Merson brought him in on a short term contract, pitched him straight into the team against Wednesday when he didn't look fit and hasn't played him again.

It would seem that Merson will be depending on Mark Wright with cover from Wiletts at right back for the time being, as he has not stated right back is an area he wants to strengthen.
