Walsall's current crop of strikers are about to receive some help - Bonser willing. Player-Manager Paul Merson has identified the player he wants (presumably quick and a goal scorer!) and will be seeing the Chairman this week.

Player-Manager Paul Merson has said that he has identified a striker he wants to bring in to reinforce his forward line and will be seeing the Chairman this week.

He had already said that he wanted a pacey goalscorer, as that is an area he sees as needing to be strengthened. He went to watch the player concerned in a second round FA Cup Tie on Saturday and will be making a request to Jeff Bonser to bring the player in this week.

Merson did watch the FA Youth Cup Tie at Bescot on Saturday morning, when the Saddlers went down 3 - 6 to Stockport County, so we can reasonably assume that the game he went to wasn't too far away, but we don't have any other clues!
