Is Fryatt a Crewe target?

Rumour has it that Matt Fryatt could well be set to replace Dean Ashton at Crewe. Ashton is on the verge of signing for Premier League Norwich City.

Dario Gradi has had us watched on a number of occasions. Initially it was thought that Julian Bennett was his target, but it now appears that Matt Fryatt could well be the man he wants.

Fryatt fits the bill as being just what Crewe would want. AYouth international with bags of potential talent. As of yet there are no official reports, but Fryatt has already proved he can cope with first team football, and Crewe now need a striker.

This rumour has been fueled by comments Merson made to the local press, which hinted at Matty's reluctance to play with a cold summing up the state of team spirit within the squad.
