Can we win Merse some spending money?

This might be the most wacky competition ever, but what an opportunity for our Club. If you text "player Walsall" to 80089, The Club could get £250,000 to spend on new players.

At 4:15 on the first day texting just 28 Walsall fans have entered the competition. A full article on the initiative can be found by clicking here. The Cheque for £250,000 can be invested how ever the clubs see fit.

When Merse joined the Club it was widely estimated that he was earning about £3000 a week. By far our biggest earner. That amounts to about £160,000 a year in wages. So the sum of £250,000 would become a substantial investment. 

The competition is open to all Football League and Scottish Premier League Clubs. That means we face stiff competition from clubs like Rangers, Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday, Celtic and Sunderland. Do we stand a chance? It's a long shot.
