The average gate last season was 7,861. While the lowest gate we attracted was 6395. So how this make this seasons average of 6041 look?

Well that drop of 1800 looks steep. That is until you consider the following points

- In 2000-2001 we reached the play offs and bounced straight back up the Championship at the first time of asking. We averaged crowds of 5632 for what turned in to a very memorable season.

- The Ray Graydon miracle season of 1998-1999 saw us average 5458. This was a season where we hit the ground running and finished second just behind Fulham and well ahead of Manchester City.

- In 1995 we won promotion to League One. Our first season back in the division since 1990 saw us finish in 11th place with an average gate of 3983.

These are very interesting facts. To average better crowds after such a disappointing season is quite an achievement for the Club.

If we take one thing away from this season it's that our fan base is stronger than it has ever been at this level.
