This ain't no pet shop

David Perpatuini failed to feature because Paul Merson is adamant that he isn't running a pet shop where players can showcase there talents for other Clubs.

Our poodle haired full back had been an ever present since being plucked from the Wycombe Reserves. Now it seems he's set to follow in the footsteps of fellow Walsall left back Gino Padula.

His reluctance to sign a new deal paved the way for Youth Team full back Jon Harkness to make his debut. Harkness is a Northern Ireland youth international and looks certain to play some sort of role next season. 

It will be interesting see where Perpatuini ends up. Who knows, it could even be with the Saddlers. Who in there right mind would sign the first deal put down on the table...

Maybe the nature of his arrival has put him off? His transfer nearly collapsed because Club didn't realise it had used up all it's loan slots. The deal was then rushed through with us taking over the players contracts. Prior to it being concluded he had told the media that he would like to go back and play a part in there play-off challenge should they finish in the top 7.

Who knows what goes on behind the scenes....
