Jon Harkness has signed a professional contract, hot on the heels of his first team debut.

Harkness, a Northern Ireland youth international made an impressive start to his Walsall career on Saturday.

Primarily a left back, Harkness can also operate as a Centre Half. A position he found himself in on Saturday folllowing the departure of the injured Ian Roper.

His 12 month deal also has the option of another year should he go on and impress.
