His first year as a Saddler has seen him spend two spells out on-loan.

His first came with Rochdale where he made 16 appearances and scored 2 goals. The highlight of his spell was an appearance against Premiership Charlton in the FA CUP.

The second came with Ian Rush at Chester City. Atieno spent one month at the Deva Stadium where he played 4 games and scored 1 goal.

His 3 appearances for the Saddlers have been very encouraging. His last one against Bournemouth showed fans just why he is being kept on for another year. His ability to hold the ball up and play as a target man is something the squad lacks.
