The Whakacoaster took its biggest and most dramatic change in course on Monday. Our Jimmy can now call himself a Premiership Footballer.

It all started off so well with Jim making the starting XI and going on to make a string of decent saves. He then saw a Bobby Zamora goal put his side one-nil up and his dream of Premiership Football was just 7 minutes away.

cue a disaster of mega-proportions. Jimmy landed awkwardly and jarred his right knee while collecting a high ball. He was booked for leaving the area and then left the pitch on a stretcher. The Hammers negotiated the 7 minutes of injury time and went on to secure promotion.

Jim was able to collect his medal, albeit via a piggy back from a member of the backroom staff.

The status of his knee injury is still to be ascertained. He was interviewed on Sky this afternoon and hopes to be fit for the early part of next season. Hammers boss Alan Pardew hailed him as a hero and praised the role he played in the Hammers victory.

Many of the pundits will be tipping the hammers to recruit a top class keeper, but with them still in the mire financially, those in and around the Club are tipping Jimmy and Bywater to battle it out again come the new season.

The West Ham victory meant heart ache for former Saddlers David Kelly (PNE COACH) and Gavin Ward (PNE RESERVE KEEPER) both of whom will be gutted not to be plying there trade in the Premiership in August.
