Shrews ace linked

The E&S has linked us with a move for former Shrewsbury striker Luke Rodgers. The pacey front man turned down a new deal at Gay Meadow and is available on a free transfer.
This link obviously comes because of the lack of movement on the Joachim front. Merse told the media he wants someone in his mould, and Rodgers is pacey front man who puts defenders on the back foot.
His record reads 77 goals in 204 games - which isn't a bad goals to game ratio when you consider how poor Shrewsbury have been over the last couple of seasons.
He came close to moving to Crewe not so back. The two clubs were unable to agree on a fee, with the Shrews said to value him at more than £1m.
The longer the JJ issue remains unresolved the - the greater urgency there'll be for a replacement. We've waited around for players in the past and it usually ends in tears.
Rodgers has shown a desire to further his career and move up the footballing ladder. A move to Walsall would be a couple of runs up from where he was with Shrewsbury.
