England and France shared the spoils in this afternoons first game of the UEFA European U19 Championship. Our Matty got the England goal in the 1-1 draw.
Walsall's Matt Fryatt opened the scoring after ... minutes. It was a well taken goal - a moment that made all those who watched on extremely proud.
It was an entertaining game that saw Matty give a very good account of himself. He worked the channels well, and didn't give the French defenders and inch of space. He donned the number 9 jersey and started the game ahead of Dexter Blackstock (a high profile youngster from Southampton) and a number of other Premiership player.
With the toughest group game now over, England face Armenia and Norway - two sides who we are expected to overcome with relative ease.
