Lee fails in old boys bids

Which 2 old boys has Millwall boss Colin Lee been trying to lure to the Lions Den - all be it unsuccessfully.

He isn't having such a good time down in South London. He never really found an assistant manager while with Walsall... and it hasn't proved as easy at Millwall.

First there was Merrington, then there was Houston, then came Paul Bracewell. Mick Halsall had the odd stint alongside him as well.

Since being at the New Den he's made 2 failed attempts to bring in former number 2s.

First he tried to bring in Dave Merrington, and then he tried to get Paul Bracewell in the door. Needless to say both bids failed so he appointed David Tuttle.

Maybe the Millwall fans will never realise just what they've missed out on by not getting Dave Merrington. He is held in high esteem by the Walsall fans and we could certainly tell the kind of influence he had on the team while he was at the club.

Tuttle and Lee look to have there hands full at Millwall, yet the Lions fans can sleep easy. Lee has a great record when it comes to fighting relegation. Although they should be aware that the now vacant Plymouth Job will appeal to Lee who used to stand on the Terraces at Home Park as a youngster.
