Raith looking to consolidate at the top

Raith Rovers push to the SPL continues with a home tie with Queen of the South tomorrow.

Rovers go into the clash without Dougie Hill who is injured and manager John McGlynn is unable to finalise his side due to further injuries in his squad.

Full-back Willie Dyer is struggling with a groin strain and midfielder Stephen Simmonds' calf problem could see him miss out for a second week in a row.

McGlynn said: "It will be a last minute decision on both of them but they need to be one hundred per cent ready as Queen of the South are dangerous opponents.

"We will be well prepared and be out to make it a difficult game for them as we want the three points to stay at the top of this league."

Queen of the South will have former Dundee striker Colin McMenamin in their squad for the third and final time as a trialist.

Doonhamer manager Kenny Brannigan will be without goalkeeper Roddy McKenzie and midfielder Rocco Quinn and his squad could be depleted further if Craig Reid and Bob Harris fail fitness tests.

Brannigan said: "This is a tough game, probably our hardest of the season as Raith Rovers are a really good side that are very dangerous on the attack and all work incredibly hard for each other.

"We went up to Ross County last weekend and earned a point and we will need a similar effort to take anything from this game."
