Craig Levein picked his latest Scotland squad today ahead of next week’s friendly with the Faroes at Pittodrie and there are a few new faces in the squad.
In from the Under 21 squad comes David Goodwillie, Danny Wilson and Barry Bannan, along with the return of Kevin Kyle, Chris Commons and Chris Burke.
There are only two Rangers players in the squad and no Celtic players as Levein looks to the future, Levein said, "Anybody on this list is someone I can feel can add something to the team. For some of them it might not be that imminent, but I want to have a look at them.
"I have brought some younger ones in who have been doing well and I want to see how they do, not just in the game but in training as well.
"We want to win the game first and foremost. If you look through the squad you will see a lot of guys who have figured in the last few competitive matches. There is a strong core and I've added some guys who have hit a bit of form and also some young ones."
It will be interesting to see how this young squad fares against the Faroes, I am a bit concerned with Levein’s obsession with United players, when there are others performing well in the SPL!
