Final SFL game goes....

The SFL has lost it's last fixture for this weekend due to the refs shambles.

The last of the SFL fixtures between Morton and Falkirk has been cancelled as the SFA's contingency plans for the referee's strike appear to be unravelling!

A statement from the SFL was released this morning saying, "Regretfully, the SFL have to announce that the game between Morton and Falkirk, which was the only remaining fixture in the SFL Card for this Saturday, has now been postponed.

"This is as a result of the recent withdrawal of the match officials who were designated for this match.

"The ALBA Challenge Cup Final Tie scheduled for this Sunday will still go ahead."

This is a remarkably understated statement from the SFL, I think they should be more bullish and expressing their complete frustration, at least, at the whole situation.

Fan owned Stirling Albion are the first club to look for compensation for the money they will lose by having to play their game with Partick in midweek, "We believe reversing the fixture to a midweek game will cost us £6,000 - £7,000," said club spokesman Paul Goodwin

"We'll be interested to talk to the SFA and we'll be looking for compensation. That is just the gate receipts. We have already spent money that we will lose. We have printed programmes, we have staff commitments."

I hope they go ahead with their claim and get something back from the SFA
