Aberdeen defender Zander Diamond has denied any notion Aberdeen players underperformed in order to get rid of former manager Mark McGhee.
Diamond has been quoted as saying the players have given “110% in training and in games” and the players are hurt at the accusations they didn’t perform because they didn’t like the manager.
If this is the case how do you explain one of the worst runs in the club’s recent history! They have now lost seven games in a row including the club’s record 9-0 defeat at Celtic Park last month, and then yesterday’s 5-0 hammering at Tynecastle.
Is he admitting the players are just not good enough, if they are giving 110% they must simply lack the talent to get out of the situation they find themselves in.
This must be causing Craig Brown and Archie Knox sleepless nights already. They will take their first training session tomorrow and having watched the game with Hearts yesterday will know the size of the task ahead of them!
They are probably lucky the timing gives them a chance to wheel and deal in the January transfer window. The problem they will have will be shipping out some of the players they currently have before they bring anyone in!
The problem they will have is who will take any of the underperformers off their hands before they can bring anyone in.
