Inverness run continues

Inverness Caley Thistle’s long unbeaten away record continued at Tynecastle, and Killie move up to fifth in the two games played yesterday.

Inverness took the lead in the first half through a goal from skipper Grant Munro before a Kevin Kyle penalty levelled things just before the break.

This game tells us quite a bit about both of these sides, it confirms Terry Butcher’s side as genuine European contenders this season. Something that was unthinkable only a year ago when they looked unlikely to win promotion from the first division.

For Hearts it probably confirms they are not title challengers, if they want to win the title they need to be winning these tricky home games even against a side who haven’t lost away from home for a year.

In Ayrshire Kilmarnock continued their impressive recent run with a win over Hibs at Rugby Park. A double from Liam Kelly set things up for the home side, a Derek Riordan wasn’t enough to see the Edinburgh side pull the game back.

Killie looked like relegation candidates at the start of the season, but some impressive work from Mixu Pataaleinen has pulled them up the table and into contention for a European place next season.

While at Hibs the malaise that set in under John Hughes appears to be continuing under Colin Calderwood. Since Hughes left they have only won two games and sees them slip to 9^th in the table only five points above bottom of the table Aberdeen.
