Change meeting cancelled due to weather

The SPL meeting to discuss the proposed changes, including a two tier SPL with ten teams in each division, has been cancelled due to the weather.

The heavy snow fall over the last couple of days has forced the cancellation of tomorrow’s SPL meeting to discuss the proposed changes to the League construction.

 

This could indeed be a good thing as it will give the people who oppose the ideas more time to muster their forces before the re-arrange date on 4^th January.

 

When the story broke earlier this week it appeared it would go through no problem but there now appear to be cracks appearing all over the place.

 

Three SPL clubs are already suggesting there should be an opportunity to look at a bigger league rather than a smaller one! This would seem to reflect the opinion of the fans who all seem to want the larger size of League.

 

There also appears to be opposition from outside the SPL with some of the smaller SFL Clubs not happy with the way they appear to have been marginalised into a regional set up to help the big boys at the other end of the food chain.

 

Everybody does at least appear to accept change is required, but it would appear no consensus has been reached yet, and it appears to be boiling down to a battle between the money men and the football people.
