Old Firm drawn together in Cup draw

The draw for the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup paired Rangers and Celtic for the first time in five years.

The draw was made at Hampden this afternoon by Scots rockers Biffy Clyro and the drew Celtic out to take on Rangers at Ibrox on the weekend of 5^th or 6^th of February.

This is the first time since 2005 the two have been paired in the competition, with Celtic winning at Celtic Park in January of that year. The sides have played each other twice this season already with both registering an away win.

This pairing gives everybody else a real chance of making the Final, and even winning the trophy.

Of the ties decided the sides who must be best pleased will be Motherwell who travel to take on lower League opposition in either Stenhousemuir, Threave Rovers or Stranraer! While Aberdeen have been drawn at home to Montrose or Dunfermline.

Also taking on lower League opposition are Inverness who are paired at home to First Division Morton or Second Division Airdrie.

Last season’s winners Dundee United still have to see off the team they beat in the final last year, Ross County, and if they do they will be on their travels to take on Hamilton Accies.
