Dundee’s latest appeal against their 25 point deduction for going into administration has been turned down by the SFA

The SFA met today and have maintained the 25 point deduction and also kept the transfer embargo in place. On the positive side they have removed any threat of further punishment if they are not out of administration by March 31st.

This mean the League table will finally show them bottom of the table with only 7 points, but only five points behind Stirling Albion.

They have shown tremendous form since the original announcement they were in administration and had been sitting in second place only one point behind leaders Dunfermline.

If they can keep that type of form going, they have won their last six League games, there will be no fear they will get relegated but it has ended any interest they have in promotion.

It looks as though some money will be coming in with striker Leigh Griffiths possibly heading to Wolves for £150000, and this on top of Sky TV money for their cup tie with Motherwell.

I am pleased the initial punishment stands, I know the SFL has no standard punishment for going into administration, given this is the second time they have gone into administration.

It will be interesting to see how the players, and the club in general, will react to the psychological step of going bottom of the table. As I said above I think they will stay and if they do they will go from strength to strength.

Dundee appeal fails again.
