Stirling appoint new boss

Supporter owned Stirling Albion have appointed a new manager today, and have played safe by appointing veteran boss Jocky Scott.
Scott replaces John O’Neill who was sacked this week with Stirling sitting only second bottom as a result of Dundee’s 25 point deduction for going into administration.
This leaves the Binos only four points ahead of Scott’s former side in the race to avoid relegation. They do have two games in hand over Dundee, but given recent form it would be a minor miracle if Stirling can stay ahead of them
Scott was sacked by Dundee about this time last year as the board took a bit of stage fright at the prospect of Dundee missing out on promotion. Ironically the change of boss didn’t change anything and Inverness pipped the Dens Park side to the SPL spot.
It is interesting to see that the fans, who own Stirling Albion have played safe in their first major appointment and put their faith in an experienced safe pair of hands.
It will be interesting to see if Scott can make a major impact at the foot of the table and turn round the Binos fortunes immediately.
