A number of SPL clubs have been busy today with players heading in and out all over the place

Aberdeen have held on to their squad but failed in a bit to bring Blackburn’s Jason Lowe after the English club have been hit with a number of injuries. They have managed to sign Steven Smith formerly of Rangers but they have let Jered Ifil and Velicka goes back to Rangers

Celtic have been trying to shore up their central defence with a number of injuries in that area but Nottingham Forest are playing hard ball and holding on to Kelvin Wilson until the summer.

Hamilton have signed striker 20-year-old Tom Elliott on a free transfer from Leeds United until the end of the season.

Hibs have had played move in both directions with Marouane Zemmama joining  Middlesbrough on a three-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee. They have signed 24-year-old Czech keeper Jakub Divis on loan until the end of the season. Divis arrives from Slovakian First Division side FC Tatran and has been on trial at Hibs as well as Doncaster Rovers. They have also released Chris Hogg and De Graff

Inverness have sealed Alex McDonald’s loan from Burnley, and brought in central defender Chris Hogg from Hibs

Kilmarnock have three players released today; Graeme Owens, Danny Invincibile and Alan Combe but they have signed midfielder Scott Evans from Welsh side Llanelli.

Rangers haven’t managed to bring anyone in yet but they have managed to get James Beattie off the wage bill as he goes on loan to Blackpool. It has been rumoured that El Hadji Diouf could be heading to Ibrox tonight

Five teams; Dundee United, Hearts, Motherwell, St. Johnstone and St. Mirren have yet to do any business today. Motherwell have been linked with return of a couple of strikers, either David Clarkson or Chris Porter coming back on loan.

None of the moves are exactly earth shattering but at least some of the sides have freshened things up and this could make the rest of the season a bit more interesting.
