Celtic move five points clear again.

Celtic’s 3-1 win at Tannadice today has once again moved them five points ahead of Rangers with an Old Firm game coming up on Sunday.

The pitch at Tannadice was almost declared unplayable before the game, with United boss Peter Houston believing the game only went ahead because the game was on telly.

Nonetheless it had no impact on the game which was end to end with both sides attacking from the start.

United were out of luck in the first half with both Celtic’s goals taking deflections to beat Dusan Pernis. The visitors broke the deadlock when Anthony Stokes' low drive deflected in off the heel of hapless Garry Kenneth. That came on 16 minutes and, after another 20, it was Shaun Dillon's turn to deflect in a Mark Wilson shot.

David Goodwillie swept in United's reply after 64 minutes, but Daniel Majstorovic headed in 15 minutes later.

Celtic's victory not only meant that they completed their 16th game without defeat but restored the gap over reigning champions Rangers, who have two games in hand.

Thankfully there was no repeat of the scenes the last time these two met in Dundee which led to Linesman Steven Craven and Ref Dougie McDonald leaving the game for good..
