Trouble ahead for McCoist and Lennon

The two coaches/managers who went head to head and Sunday are facing touch line bans after being reported in the referee’s report on Wednesday’s Cup game.

After two touchline spats Rangers assistant manager, Ally McCoist, and Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, have been reported to the SFA in the Calum Murray’s report on Wednesday’s game.

 

This could mean a two game ban for McCoist, but for Lennon it could be worse given his record to date this season. He starts a four game ban tomorrow,and this latest report could see him pick up another four game ban!

 

This is one of the latest pieces in the fall out from Wednesday, with Neil Lennon also reported to have apologised to the Celtic board for his behaviour. Interestingly no apology to Rangers or the fans who suffered as a resilt of this behaviour.

 

Over at Ibrox Walter Smith has expressed his disappointment at the reaction of his players to certain decisions towards the end of the game, and accepted responsibility for this and will take steps to fix it.

 

It’s beginning to look as though the aftermath of this game will rumble on until the next one, the League Cup Final a fortnight on Sunday. Mainly as we still have the summit to come which will be wildly reported….

It is "interesting" there is no mention of the rangers players manhandling the ref, or the fact that the whole reason for it kicking off was Diouf barging the celtic physio. Or that it was McCoist who instigated the confrontation at full time. Or that only 3 celtic players were booked, one of whom was Scott Brown from a bad tackle on him by David Weir, whereas rangers get 3 reds! Scotlands press needs to do what they are there to do, and report. Say what you see lads, its easier!
