Dunfermline move to top of First Division

A late Martin Hardie goal sealed a 1-0 win for the Pars away to Ross County to move them to the top of the table.

The win moved Dunfermline two points clear of Fife rivals for the title Raith Rovers, although the Rovers still have a game in hand as the two of them chase for the title.

It looked as though Jimmy Calderwood’s Ross County would hold on for a valuable point when Hardie popped to score to seal the win for the Pars.

With Cowdenbeath holding Falkirk to a 0-0 draw the title race would now appear to be a two horse race between the two Fife clubs. The Bairns have now fallen 10 points behind with three games in hand, it would take a run of Inverness proportions for them to get back in the race.

The point for the Blue Brazil moved them to within a point of Ross County in the race to avoid the relegation play off place.

In the other game in the Division Queen of the South won 2-0 at Stirling Albion which would appear to hammer the final nail in the Bino’s relegation coffin.
