They don’t know what they’re doing

This is a popular chant these days at grounds and it would appear to reflect what is happening at the SPL as far as reconstruction is concerned.

Today there was still no vote for the top ten League with the clubs struggling to come up with a compromise that will secure the 11-1 vote that would see the vote carried.

They now appear to be coming up with ideas to help convince the doubters to vote for the 100 page plan, things like:

1. British League Cup, obviously including team from England, but as Stan Collymore said on Talksport tonight, what is in it for the teams in England for a midweek tournament like this!
2. The national team's Fifa ranking to improve from 66th to 15th within five years
3. The SPL's coefficient ranking to improve from 16th to 10th in five years
4. Broadcasting revenues to increase by 50% in five years
5. The Scottish Football Association to make payments to clubs when players are on international duty

There appears to be no substance behind points 2-4, they appear to be a wish list more than anything else!

They are also pushing to bring the Football Leagues under one umbrella, this is a good idea but once again it only appears to be to the benefit of the “big” teams.

Maybe the people at the top should listen to the people who pay in, they appear to make more sense from what I have read on the internet and some calls to phone in programmes!!
