Second derby title decider this week.

With all the attention being heaped upon the Old Firm in the SPL the First Division Fife derby between Dunfermline and Raith Rovers has almost slipped under the radar.

The two form sides in the Division meet at East End Park on Saturday in front of what looks like a full house of 12000 in a game that will go a long way to determine the destiny of the title, with only two games remaining after this one.

Having said that, if Dundee had not been deducted their 25 points things would be slightly different as they would be on 63 points, two ahead of the Pars.

But that is what it is, the two Fife sides have been in the running for promotion all season, and in recent weeks have pulled away from Falkirk who were the last of the challengers.

Raith have not been in the top Division since 1995 and Dunfermline have been down for only four seasons.

The sides have met three times this season with Raith not having lost in any of them, winning both games at Starks Park and drawing the last game at East End Park in November.

Let’s hope the game gets the media coverage it deserves, Radio Scotland are covering the game live but there would appear to be no TV coverage, and let’s hope the Papers don’t lose the significance of the game in amongst the millions of words on the Old Firm.
