Thistle announce major new sponsorship deal

Partick Thistle FC has today announced a brand-new, three-year sponsorship deal by macb water, worth a substantial six-figure sum to the club.

Manager, Jackie McNamara announced the partnership with the Aberdeenshire-based water brand before shaking hands with macb CEO, Kenny Webster and Jack Wilson, a young Patrick Thistle fan. The investment will help to financially secure the Firhill side and comes at a time that the Jags are looking to cement their reputation as Glasgow’s ‘football friendly’ club.

Next season, the club will not only have support from macb but, due to its trouble-free record and well-behaved fans, they will also become a police-free ground. In addition, Firhill will continue its commitment to welcoming children under 16 for free, as well as hosting a dedicated family area and kids zone.

This is the first title sponsorship to be entered into by macb – a company that employs 61 people and sells over 10 million litres of macb across Scotland per year. macb is also the official water for nine SPL teams, including Hibs, Hearts, Dundee United and Aberdeen.

Jackie McNamara echoed Kenny’s comments: “I am delighted that the Club secured macb water as our main sponsor. I think it’s a great brand and ties in perfectly with Thistle. Everybody at the Club is already looking forward to next season - we have what we believe is the core of a great squad and once we get the boys back in from the close season it will be heads down and hard work. They’ll need a good few bottles of macb water with the pre-season training sessions I’ve prepared.”
