Transfers keep coming (or not!!)

The summer transfer stories keep coming with some moves being sealed and others not….

At Ibrox Rangers keep spurning moves for Steven Whittaker from Turkish side Bursaspor. They have knocked back a third bid today, reported to be around £700k.

Rangers are saying they would like to extend the versatile Whittaker’s deal beyond the year he still has left on his existing deal.

It will be interesting to see how much the Turkish side will test their resolve before they head off somewhere else.

Rangers have also been linked with Dundee United winger Craig Conway, with the Sun saying “secret talks” were held yesterday. They kept that a great secret!! Conway is also attracting interest from English sides, once again it will be interesting to see if Rangers can win this one.

Dundee United have already lost another player today with out of contract midfielder Margaro Gomis heading south to join Managerless Championship side Birmingham City.

Also in the East Hibs have brought one of their successful youth players back to Easter Rd after a spell away from the club. Garry O’Connor left to moved to Moscow but couldn’t settle before returning to Britain to play for Birmingham.

He spent time at Barnsley this season and was released at the end of the season allowing him to return to one last go at turning his career around.
