Bellamy not for Celtic.

Despite the noises from Man City boss Roberto Mancini over the weekend Craig Bellamy will not be moving to Celtic.

Bellamy has been linked with a move to Celtic all summer, which all seems to stem from his spell back in 2005 when he failed to help them win the SPL as they failed on the legendary Helicopter Sunday at Fir Park.

Mancini said at the weekend that it would be “no problem” if he spoke to Celtic about a move north, but today Bellamy has quashed any hopes the hoops have of sealing the deal.

Bellamy has let it be known he does not want to go on loan for another season after spending last season at Cardiff on loan. He will be happy to sit out the season at the Etihad Stadium if no permanent move can be agreed.

This would appear to ensure he will not end up at Celtic Park, given he is meant to earn £90000 per week at Man City.

This is just another example of how far our football has fallen in stature in recent years with both sides of the Old Firm struggling to attract quality players like they did at one time.

Bellamy not for Celtic.
