St.Mirren travelled to Dundee United trying to build on a solid start in their opening two games, which has seen them secure four points out of six. United were in a similar position after their excellent win over Hearts last week.

Saints opened the scoring after 11 minutes to make the perfect start, Nigel Hasslebaink fed Steven Thomson to score his first goal for his new club, ironically against the club he started out with.

The Paisley men were reduced to 10 men just before half time when Hasselbaink was sent off for a straight elbow. This took place deep into stoppage time which was required following an injury to Scott Severin.

The ten men couldn’t hold on with Jon Daly equalising for the home side and seeing both sides move on to five points and sharing top spot ahead of this afternoon’s two games.

Dunfermline and Inverness shared a six goal thriller atEast EndPark, withInvernessscoring their first goals of the season and picking up their first point at the same time.

It was the home side who opened the scoring in the 26th minute with Andy Kirk providing the finish. The lead lasted until just after the break whenInverness equalised through a deflected shot from Greg Tansey.

Five minutes later Kirk grabbed his second of the afternoon before goals from Hayes and Tansey looked to have secured three points for the Highlanders. But they were denied the victory by a stunning Martin Hardie curling 30-yard free-kick in stoppage time.
