Minor movement as the transfer window nears closure.

There have been a few confirmed moves and some speculation today as the transfer window heads for a close tomorrow.

Celtic did sign someone as they snapped upSierra Leonestriker Mohamed Bangura from AIK Stockholm after a recommendation from club legend Henrik Larsson.

The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the forward.

There has also been speculation that Celtic were on the verge of signing Baba Diawara of Maritimo, but that appears to have gone cold throughout the day with no movement having taken place during the day.

Celtic were also close to signing Frenchman David Trezequet but the former Juventus striker chose theUnited Arab EmiratesoverGlasgow.

There have also been links that there could be movement out ofCelticParkwithWiganbeing linked with a move for Shaun Maloney. There has also been reported interest in Giorgios Samaras, with St. Etienne andSunderlandbeing linked with the Greek flop.

It would appear these two will need to move out to create space on the wage bill for a possible two coming in.

On the other side of Glasgow Rangers have had to turn down a bid of £6.5 million for striker Nikica Jelavic. It will be interesting to see how much it will take to prise their star asset out of Ibrox, as they look to make up for the lack of Champions League money.

It would appear Rangers will not be bringing anyone in unless of course they sell the Croatian striker. It would also appear to illustrate new owner Craig Whyte does not have the financial clout many believed he did.

OutsideGlasgowthere has been no movement at all, apart from Omar Daley being given a work permit to play for Motherwell after he had agreed a deal at the weekend.

The big surprise was Colin Calderwood saying that his squad was “perfect” and he would not be adding to his pool of players – extraordinary.

Maybe we will see a glut of moves tomorrow – unlikely, the only thing you can see are a number of young English Premier players moving north to get game experience.
