Rangers financial woes continue

Rangers were at the Court of Session today as they looked to settle a £35000 legal bill, a bit embarrassing for a major institution

The BBC website has reported today, “The club owed the money to theGlasgowlaw firm Levy & McRae over advice on how to deal with a Uefa charge relating to fans singing sectarian songs.

“The Court of Session inEdinburghheard the cash had now been paid. It also heard the law firm had "real concern about solvency" in relation to Rangers.

“The dispute follows action against the club last week by HMRC over unpaid tax.

A brief court hearing over the unpaid £35,000 bill to Levy and McRae was held at the Court of Session last week.”

This case comes after visits from both Sherriff Officers and representatives from the HMRC and does ask questions about what is happening at Ibrox.

This case and previous cases all hark back to the stewardship of David Murray, and makes you wonder what kind of due diligence was carried out by Craig Whyte.

It also asks questions of the amount of money Whyte would like to spend and also makes you wonder what his aspirations are at Ibrox.

There is also the lurking threat of the major tax bill that is always talked about and if that comes to fruition could that land the club in administration, or worse, given today’s fear of insolvency!
