Snorefest at Easter Rd.

Under pressure Aberdeen and Hibs played out a nil nil draw in an awful game at Easter Rd this afternoon.

These two showed why they are currently in the bottom places in the SPL as they struggled for any kind of craft or invention during a goalless draw at Easter Road.

Hibs were probably the slightly better side with Garry O'Connor missing two decent chances, then just after the break Martin Scott twice came close.

The visitors only chance in the first half was supplied by Richard Foster while in the second half they a shot from sub Peter Pawlett cleared off the line.  

Hibs stay stuck at the bottom of the table and were booed off the pitch by a much lower than average crowd.

Hibs boss Colin Calderwood came out with a strange quote after the game, "It was entertaining in a perverse kind of way because there was action but a lot of it was misguided and down to mistakes.”

It will be interesting to see how long the Hibs board stand by Calderwood given his appalling record since taking over from John Hughes last season. There is no doubt he has not improved the side since Hughes left and with crowds disappearing the Hibs board may be forced to act.

This will obviously cost them as they will be forced to take a financial hit in compensation, when they could have made money from moving him on toBirminghamorNottinghamForest.

There is a similar scenario up north with the Dons struggling under the stewardship of Brown and Knox, who as with Calderwood, have not improved upon what they were left with when Mark McGhee left.

There are tough days ahead for these two former giants of the Scottish game.
