Brown to join up with Calderwood at Hibs
Brown with Jeffries

Former Hearts Assistant Manager Billy Brown has been appointed as assistant Manager at Hibs to help Colin Calderwood.
Struggling Hibs have moved today to bolster their backroom staff by adding former Hearts Assistant Billy Brown as assistant to their own boss Colin Calderwood.
Hibs have only managed to win one game this season, away to Inverness, and sit bottom of the table with four points the additional point coming againstAberdeenat the weekend.
Calderwood has been without an assistant since Derek Adams left towards the end of last season to return toRossCounty, therefore it is no surprise he has finally moved to fill that gap.
It would also appear he needs someone strong on the training ground to bring the squad together and take no nonsense, a reputation Brown has had working with Jim Jeffries at Hearts, Kilmarnock, Falkirk andBradfordCity.
The surprise for me is Brown’s decision to cross the city after being so closely associated Hearts and Jim Jeffries for so long. It also seems strange Brown has moved into a job so soon after leaving Hearts when Jeffries didn’t take the post of Director of Football as Brown was not being kept on.
There is no doubt Hibs needed something given the way they have started and with the transfer window closed and no players can be brought in a change in the management team was the only way. This is probably the cheapest way of making this change given how much it would take to get rid of Calderwood.
