Rangers open up seven point gap

Two second half goals were enough for Rangers to beat Kilmarnock and open a seven point gap on Celtic.

The first half saw Rangers looking sluggish once again, just as they had done at Falkirk last week andKilmarnockhad the better of the opening skirmishes.

 

McCoist must have had strong words with his side as they came out a different side in the second half and dominated throughout.

 

They opened the scoring in the 64th minute when Jelavice side footed home a Steven Davis free kick.

 

Killie then hit the cross bar through Harkins but Rangers broke to the other end andEdeset up Wylde to score from close range.

 

The much maligned Maurice Edu was voted Man of the Match in the Stadium, which just goes to show how things have changed for the American in the last two weeks.

 

The win now puts the pressure on Celtic who are now seven points behind Rangers, and but the time they play Hearts on Sunday they could be TEN behind if Rangers can beat Hibs at Ibrox.
