Miller “blow” for Scotland

Scotland striker Kenny Miller will have a hamstring injury assessed over the next couple of days to see if he will be fit to play against Leichtenstein and Spain.

Miller was taken off after only 10 minutes ofCardiff’s game withHullCitythis afternoon and the Bluebird’s boss Malky Mackay said he would be surprised if he was fit for the International double header.

This has been described in some areas of the media tonight as a blow forScotland, well I am not one of them who sees it that way! While I respect the work Miller has done forScotlandover the years we seem blinkered by his work rate than his real goal threat.

Now it is time for either Ross McCormack to be called up to the squad after his good start to the Championship season, or for one of the existing squad to step up to the mark.

Is it the time for Goodwillie to take his chance, or for Mackail-Smith to show his worth? These young players have been on the sidelines for the last couple of years waiting on their chance, therefore this injury could be a blessing in disguise.

This could be another major test of Levein’s management ability, let’s see what he is made of!
