Scotland’s 1-0 win over Leichtenstein yesterday takes the quest for the play off place to the last game in the group.
It was job done last night forScotlandthanks to Craig Mackail-Smith’s first half goal. It was never pretty but all that mattered at the end of the 90 minutes was the win and three points to move into second and put the pressure on the Czechs on Tuesday.
The result could have been higher ifScotlandhad taken their chances, with Naismith in particular missing a number of chances on the night.
It wouldn’t beScotlandwithout a number of injury worries ahead of the game withSpain, Barry Bannan, Phil Bardsley, Charlie Adam and Mackail-Smith are all carrying injuries.
Also doubtful is Kenny Miller who didn’t get stripped for Saturday’s win, and his injury looks like keeping out on Tuesday as well.
While it is unlikely we will beatSpainon Tuesday we need to make sure we don’t lose too many goals and keep confidence up. We also need to hopeLithuaniacan do us a favour inKaunasat the same time.
