Accies and Falkirk make Challenge Cup Final.

Hamilton Accies and Falkirk made it through to the Ramsdens Challenge Cup Final with semi final wins over Livingston and Annan.

Hamilton and Livingston fought out an entertaining tie at New Douglas Park this afternoon, with both teams having enough chances to win a game that ended up only 1-0 to the home side.

The first half got off to a slow start which may have been down to a long stoppage after a clash of heads between Dougie Imrie and Kyle Jacobs but when it did get going it was good to watch.

Andy McNeil was forced to pull off saves from Imrie and McAlister, while Cerny saved from Russell and even when he was beaten McLaughlin was on hand to block from Scougall.

The goal came in 43 minutes, an Imrie corner was fired to the back post, where Canning was on hand to head the ball back into the six yard box when McLaughlin was on hand to bullet a header into the net from close range.

Even before the breakLivingstoncould have been back in the tie with Fox seeing a long range effort slide wide while Russell pulled out a stunning save from Cerny.

Livingstoncreated the better clear cut chances in the second period with Russell and Cerny having a personal battle. The home keeper made three great saves from the Livi striker.

Russell had the best chance to take the game extra time with only about a minute left. He beat the offside trap and was clean through, he chose to lob Cerny but he only managed in beating the keeper to send the ball over the cross bar.

In the other semi finalFalkirksaw off Annan thanks to three first half goals from Mark Millar and two from El Alagui.

The final will take place until next April at a venue yet to be announced.
