SPL back with a couple of surprises.

Rangers and Celtic dropped two points each against St. Mirren and Kilmarnock respectively while Motherwell won again.

Celtic kicked the afternoon off with a trip toRugbyParkand found themselves three goals down at half time. The goals for Killie coming from Shiels, Heffernan and Fowler, and looked good value for that lead.

The visitors then sparked a comeback with a great Stokes strike from a free kick. Stokes then pulled another back before Mulgrew equalised with ten minutes to go.

Heffernan should have sealed the points for Killie late on but he could only head over from close range with only minutes left on the clock.

It looked as though this result would heap even more pressure on Neil Lennon with Rangers having the chance to open up a 13 point gap on theirGlasgowrivals, but that was before late drama at Ibrox.

Rangers turned in a lack lustre performance and after the game Ally McCoist was quick to admit his side did not deserve to win the game on the day. The took the lead on 48 minutes thanks to Jelavic.

It looked as though this would be enough to seal three points but a stoppage time equaliser from former Rangers striker Steven Thompson put an end to those thoughts.

This meant the only team to make progress in the top three was the ever impressive Motherwell who emphatically thumped Hibs 1-0. The only goal of the game came in the 9^th minute when Jamie Murphy headed a Tom Hateley cross past Graeme Stack.

Stack was the busiest man on the park wit a string of saves to keep his side in the contest, and even when he was beaten he carried some luck with the post and the bar saving him on occasion.

Elsewhere Dunfermline continued their slide to the bottom of the table thanks to a two goal defeat to Hearts atEast EndPark. They now sit only a point aboveInvernesswho lost by the same scoreline at St. Johnstone.Aberdeen’s recent mini-revival kept going with a 3-1 win over Dundee Utd at Pittodrie.
