Big weekend ahead

The SPL hots up this weekend with Rangers hosting Dundee Utd on Saturday, then on Sunday 2nd take on third at Fir Park.

This is a massive weekend in the SPL, ahead of the International break (again!!), and it starts tomorrow with Rangers taking on Dundee Utd at home. The Gers know a win will put them 15 (Fifteen!) points ahead of Celtic before they take on Motherwell on Sunday.

Rangers will be odds on to beat United who have been struggling this season after losing so many key players in the summer. Having said that United have a good record at Ibrox and will go there with no fear.

I think the motivation of piling the pressure on theirGlasgowneighbours will ensure Rangers win this one, even with the injured Steven Naismith missing.

Sunday sees this season pretenders Motherwell take on Celtic in an unlikely 2^nd v 3^rd match. The home side have had the recognition they finally deserve as they were presented with Manager of the Month and Player of the Month (Keith Lasley, are you watching Mr Levein) awards.

Stuart McCall has played down his sides chances of splitting the Old Firm this season. Rightly so I would think given the lack of depth in his squad. Although if they can hang in there until January and speculate on a couple more acquisitions like Nicky Law who knows what might happen!

Celtic have a bit of an injury issue going into this one and this could test their squad in what will be a must win game, if they don’t want to slip further behind both Rangers and Motherwell.

It is also tight at the bottom with Inverness and Dunfermline having tricky away trips to Hibs andKilmarnock. I fully expectInvernessto claw themselves off the bottom, from what I have seen they are a much better side than the Pars, and they could spring a surprise at Killie tomorrow.
