What interest in Hibs job

The Hibs board met yesterday to consider the applications to replace Colin Calderwood, who would take the job?
CC has only just left the club and the Board have claimed they have received 40 applications for the role, claiming this shows how attractive the club are to potential candidates.
Looking back over every SPL job that has become available I seem to remember that almost every one of them has had between 30-40 applications. Therefore Hibs are no more special than Motherwell,Aberdeen, St. Johnstone or St. Mirren in that respect.
It would also be interesting to know how many of the 40 are genuine contenders and how many are from eccentrics who have a good record in Football Manager on the Xbox or Playstation!
There is obviously genuine interest from Jimmy Calderwood who was interviewed on Radio yesterday. There has also been talk about Jim Jeffries joining his former assistant, Billy Brown, although I am not sure how the Hibees would accept a former Jambos pairing!!
As with all Managers jobs there has to be interest from abroad and former players telling the board to get it right this time!! The former player speaking out this time has been Paul Kane, although in fairness he did speak with a great deal of passion for his former club.
In the end the appointment it up to the same people who have successfully pick the last eight managers in the last ten years, not exactly a stat to fill Hibs fans with confidence!
